Applications are now open for ECCAN’s Greenlight Fund, supporting community-led climate action projects across Edinburgh. This year, £160,000 is available in grants ranging from £250 to £20,000 for projects that bring communities together, build local resilience, and take action on the climate crisis.

Greenlight 2026–27 introduces a simpler process for smaller grants, with projects under £5,000 no longer requiring a community vote – making it quicker and easier for grassroots groups to apply. Larger projects will continue to be decided through a community voting process involving ECCAN members.

Applications are particularly welcomed from youth-led projects, work that widens access and participation, and initiatives that help communities respond to the impacts of a changing climate. Collaborative projects that connect people, groups and neighbourhoods across Edinburgh are also encouraged.
