Free short online courses on environment and sustainability
The University of Edinburgh provides several free short online courses, and a significant number of these are related to the environment and sustainability. They are completely free to take, have absolutely no entry requirements, and are available completely online. Led by world-class academics and supported by teaching assistants, they typically require only 1-2 hours of study each week for around five weeks.
We have two brand new courses relating to educational approaches to sustainability:
Join a personal and professional global learning journey towards a sustainable future. What on Earth could be more important? This five-week course runs until early January.
This 2-week course will be held in conjunction with COP26. Examine what COP26 is and why it’s important, and reflect on how you can add your voice to the call for collective action for a sustainable future.
We also have several other ongoing short courses:
Learn how to tackle climate change, the biggest challenge the world has faced in the 21st century.
Explore the technology that can provide a long-term solution to protect our atmosphere from an excess of carbon dioxide.
Learn about nitrogen’s vital role in human development, and how its misuse now threatens us. This course is also available in various other languages: Bengali, Dari, Hindi, Hungarian, Nepalese, Sinhalese and Urdu.
