New ‘sustainabuild Scotland’ breakfast club set to launch in 2024
2024 will see the launch of the Sustainabuild Scotland Breakfast Club, a monthly networking event in Edinburgh for sustainability professionals from all areas of Scotland’s built environment and construction sector which has been created to facilitate and expedite the sector’s transition to Net Zero.
Each month will have a different focus and will feature expert speakers who will lead the conversation on key sustainability topics including green skills, sustainable construction methods, the role of renewables in the housing sector and much more.
The monthly frequency will allow anyone working on driving sustainability within their organisation to have a regular opportunity to learn from sector-leading sustainable businesses, to share their knowledge with other attendees, and to network with peers from across the sector to forge valuable partnerships and develop new projects in this fast-moving space.
Kicking off on Wednesday 24th January 2024 from 9am to 11am, at Patina in Edinburgh Park, the first installment of the monthly networking club will have the overarching theme, ‘tackling the shortage of green skills in the built environment sector?’ – with expert speakers being confirmed in early January.
Matt Colgan, Director for Sustainabuild Scotland comments: “This is a ‘make or break’ decade for Scotland’s built environment and construction sector on its transition to Net Zero. Great progress has been made to date and we are already leading the way in many areas – however there is a long way to go and it’s vital that every business keeps sustainability at the forefront of everything they do if the sector is to have any chance of meeting Scotland’s ambitious Net Zero targets.
“Sustainabuild will bring Scotland’s key players together, to network and share learnings, build partnerships and most importantly – share best practice and find solutions to these challenges.”
The event will be hosted at Patina, an artisan bakery and restaurant with a dedicated event space at Edinburgh Park – and proud partner for the Sustainabuild Breakfast Club. Designed with sustainability in mind, Patina uses smart technology to control its energy usage, and is powered entirely by renewable energy sources, making it completely net zero and a perfect fit for this sustainability-focused event.
Patina is conveniently located close to major transport connections with Edinburgh Park Central tram stop right next to the building. Bus routes from the South Gyle hub offer city-wide access, connecting travellers as well as close links to M8 and M9.
